Casual HGV Refuse Collection Driver / Loader - Derbyshire Dales

Location: Longcliffe, near Brassington, Derbyshire Dales (DE4 4HN)
Pay Rate: £15.74 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm
Contract: Temporary with strong opportunity to become permanent
Start Date: Immediate

We are currently recruiting for 2 HGV Class 2 Driver / Loader positions based at the Derbyshire Dales Serco depot in Longcliffe.

• Drive 26-tonne and 7.5-tonne refuse collection vehicles as required.

• Carry out daily refuse and recycling collections safely and efficiently.

• Assist with refuse loading when required to support the team and complete collection rounds.

• Complete daily vehicle and machinery inspections, reporting any defects before and after use.

• Use in-cab technology and mobile devices to record collections and complete paperwork in real time.

• Maintain the cleanliness of vehicles and equipment.

• Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with members of the public and other road users.

• Follow safe lifting and manual handling procedures at all times.

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence with no more than 6 penalty points.

• Valid Driver CPC qualification.

• Previous experience driving HGV vehicles.

• Willingness to undertake refuse loading duties as part of the role.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Self-motivated, reliable and safety-conscious.

• A clean driving licence is desirable.

• Temp-to-perm opportunity for reliable, high-performing employees.

• Task-to-finish working - if your route is completed early, you can leave before the end of the shift while still being paid until 3:00pm.
