Catering & Hospitality Tutor

We are looking for a passionate Catering & Hospitality Tutor to join our specialist SEMH school for young people aged 14–19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity to help students gain practical skills, achieve a recognised City & Guilds qualification, and prepare for future employment.

You will deliver the City & Guilds Catering & Hospitality course in our professional training kitchen, teaching students a range of cooking methods, food preparation techniques, and essential kitchen skills.

Students will build their portfolios through practical work, worksheets, and photographic evidence while developing confidence, teamwork, and employability skills.

• Deliver engaging practical and theory lessons.
• Teach cooking methods, food preparation, and kitchen safety.
• Assess learner progress and maintain City & Guilds evidence.
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of students with autism and SEMH needs.
• Maintain a safe, organised learning environment.
• Support students to develop independence, confidence, and workplace skills.

You will have:

• Catering and Hospitality Instructor to deliver Level1 City and Guilds Catering and Hospitality awared, certificate and diploma.
• A relevant qualification (or equivalent industry experience).
• A teaching or assessing qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
• A positive, patient approach and a passion for helping young people succeed.
