Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Catering Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the catering department, ensuring food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard.

Job Description

This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of catering operations, including ordering, stock control, and menu planning, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of services. You will play a central role in maintaining operational continuity while driving high standards across all areas of the function.We are looking for a driven individual who can lead a team effectively while maintaining compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.

You will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, supporting operational improvements, and upholding company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily catering operations, including food preparation, presentation, ordering, stock control, and menu planning
  • Lead, support, and motivate a team of Food Service Supervisors, Assistants, and agency staff to deliver a professional service
  • Ensure all activities comply with Health & Safety and Food Safety legislation and organisational standards
  • Drive operational initiatives and support promotional activities to enhance the customer experience
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, clients, and stakeholders
  • Monitor and manage food waste using contract tools/software, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Support supervisors in managing labour and rotas in line with productivity models, policies, and procedures
  • Oversee and guide the Head Chef in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities

Professional and Personal Competencies / Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food service, catering, or hospitality
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements
  • Ability to manage, lead, and motivate a team effectively
  • Commitment to maintaining and improving high standards of service and presentation
  • Proactive approach to personal development and continuous improvement
  • IT literate
