Change Manager - GIS / Technology Transformation

Rate: £750 per day

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Change Manager to support a major GIS and technology transformation programme, particularly people who've worked around Esri / ArcGIS.

The key requirement is someone who has genuinely owned the business change piece across a large technology transformation, rather than someone whose experience is mainly focused on change communications and engagement.

You'll work across business, operational and technology teams to understand what's changing, who will be impacted and what needs to happen to make sure people are properly prepared for new systems, processes and ways of working.

The role will cover the full change lifecycle, from understanding business impacts and assessing readiness through to stakeholder engagement, communications, training, implementation, go-live and adoption.

You'll work closely with Programme, Project and Technical Leads, identifying change risks, dependencies and areas of resistance and making sure the business is ready for the change and that new ways of working are successfully embedded.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business change and adoption activity across the programme
• Complete change impact assessments across people, processes, technology and ways of working
• Assess and manage business readiness for implementation and go-live
• Identify impacted stakeholder groups and understand how the change will affect them
• Develop and deliver stakeholder engagement and communications plans
• Coordinate training, knowledge transfer and user readiness activity
• Work with programme and technical teams throughout implementation
• Identify and manage change risks, dependencies and resistance
• Support implementation, go-live and transition into BAU
• Monitor adoption and help embed new processes, systems and ways of working

Experience Required

• Strong experience as a Change Manager / Business Change Manager
• Experience working across GIS / geospatial technology programmes
• Large technology or systems transformation experience
• Change Impact Assessments
• Business Readiness Assessments
• Stakeholder engagement and change adoption
• Communications and engagement planning
• Training, knowledge transfer and user readiness
• Managing change risks, dependencies and resistance
• Experience supporting implementation and go-live
• Strong experience embedding new technology, processes and ways of working

This is a hands-on business change role and requires someone who can take ownership of the change journey from impact and readiness through to implementation, adoption and embedding.
