We have a great opportunity for an experienced Chef  or a very experienced commis chef  for an Independent School, Oxford - up to 12 weeks holiday temporary to permanent – Immediate start if you have an enhanced DBS

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Chef to join the kitchen team at a prestigious independent school in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity for a Chef de Partie looking for a Monday to Friday role with the potential to become permanent. You will be working as part of a professional brigade of four chefs, preparing high-quality food from scratch. Will be taken on permanent after 12 weeks.

The school also provides hospitality catering, including fine-dining dinners and special events, offering a varied and rewarding working environment.

Key Responsibilities as a Chef

• Working across different sections of the kitchen as a Chef de Partie
• Preparing and cooking food from scratch to a high standard
• Supporting the wider kitchen brigade during busy service periods
• Assisting with hospitality events and fine-dining dinners
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and presentation
• Working efficiently as part of a small, professional team

About the School

The school caters for  students aged 8–18 and places a strong emphasis on fresh, high-quality food. All food is prepared from scratch, and the kitchen operates as part of a well-established contract catering operation. There are three lunch sittings, with service running from 10:55am to 1:45pm, providing a structured daytime service.

Requirements as a Chef

• Previous experience working as a Chef de Partie
• Experience in volume catering 
• Good knowledge of fresh food preparation and cooking
• Ability to work across different kitchen sections
• A positive, professional attitude and good team-working skills
• An Enhanced DBS is required for the role; the agency can assist with your application
