Chef De Partie in Hauxton

Location: Hauxton, Cambridge
Hours: Wednesday to Sunday, 7:00am – 2:00pm
Salaryt: £30,000 per annum
Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Chef de Partie to join a fantastic catering operation based in Hauxton, Cambridge.

This is an ongoing temp-to-perm opportunity offering excellent daytime working hours and a strong permanent benefits package. We are looking for a capable, experienced chef who genuinely enjoys working with fresh food and is comfortable getting involved across all areas of a busy kitchen.

This isn't a role for someone who only wants to work one section. Our client is looking for a good all-round chef who can turn their hand to different areas of the kitchen, including some basic pastry work, and who has the right attitude to support the wider team wherever required.

As Chef de Partie, you will be involved in:

• Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes using fresh ingredients

• Working across different sections of the kitchen as required

• Supporting food preparation and service

• Assisting with basic pastry and dessert preparation

• Maintaining excellent standards of presentation and consistency

• Supporting the wider kitchen team during busy periods

• Following food hygiene, allergen and health & safety procedures

• Maintaining a clean, organised and professional kitchen

• Assisting with deep cleaning and kitchen maintenance

• Washing up and supporting general kitchen duties when required

Our client operates very much as one team, so having the right attitude is essential. They are looking for someone who understands that no job within the kitchen is beneath them and who is happy to muck in when needed.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working at Chef de Partie level or equivalent

• Strong fresh food experience

• Good knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques

• Experience across a variety of kitchen sections

• Basic pastry skills

• The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player

• Good organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently

• High standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness

• A positive, flexible and hands-on attitude

Chefs whose experience is predominantly limited to one section, such as main courses only, are unlikely to be suitable. This position requires someone who is confident working as a genuine kitchen all-rounder.

Following successful completion of the temporary period, the permanent position offers:

• £30,000 salary

• 37-hour working week

• 28 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays

• Employer will double your pension contribution up to 6% (Contribute 6% yourself and the employer will contribute 12%)
