Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting Chefs at all levels to support a busy and professional school catering operation in Cambridge.

We are looking to hear from experienced catering professionals ranging from Commis Chefs and Chef de Parties through to experienced Head Chefs, with daytime shifts available from 7:00am–3:30pm.

These roles would suit candidates looking for agency work, additional shifts or daytime catering hours without the late evenings typically associated with hospitality.

We are interested in hearing from:

• Commis Chefs

• Chef de Parties / CDPs

• Senior Chefs

• Sous Chefs

• Head Chefs

Responsibilities will vary depending on your level of experience.

Depending on the role, duties may include:

• Preparing and cooking fresh meals

• Supporting breakfast and lunch service

• Preparing ingredients and completing food preparation

• Working across different sections of the kitchen

• Following menus, recipes and portion requirements

• Maintaining high standards of food presentation

• Supporting or supervising junior members of the kitchen team

• Managing food safety and hygiene procedures

• Monitoring stock levels

• Assisting with ordering and kitchen organisation

• Catering for dietary requirements and allergens

• Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment

Senior and Head Chef-level candidates may also be responsible for:

• Supervising the kitchen team

• Managing service

• Delegating tasks

• Monitoring food quality and presentation

• Supporting menu planning

• Managing stock and kitchen organisation

• Ensuring food safety procedures are followed throughout the kitchen

We are looking for chefs who are:

• Experienced within a professional kitchen environment

• Reliable and punctual

• Comfortable working within a busy catering operation

• Able to work independently and as part of a wider team

• Knowledgeable regarding food hygiene and allergen procedures

• Professional in their approach

• Available to work 7:00am–3:30pm

Experience within schools, education, contract catering, care, healthcare or other high-volume catering environments would be particularly beneficial.
