Chef - Healthcare Catering

Location: Guildford
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Contract: Temporary - 6 Months

PPM Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Chef to join a healthcare catering team on a six-month temporary assignment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and reliable chef who takes pride in preparing high-quality meals and maintaining excellent food hygiene standards within a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present meals to a high standard.

• Assist with the daily operation of the kitchen and catering service.

• Ensure meals are prepared in accordance with menus, dietary requirements and portion specifications.

• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.

• Follow food safety procedures, including safe food storage, temperature monitoring and allergen management.

• Ensure kitchen equipment and work areas are kept clean and organised.

• Monitor food stock levels and help minimise food waste.

• Work effectively as part of a catering team to ensure meals are prepared and served on time.

• Follow all relevant health and safety policies and site procedures.

• Support the delivery of a professional catering service that meets the needs of patients, staff and visitors.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Chef in a professional kitchen.

• Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety regulations.

• Understanding of food allergens and special dietary requirements.

• Ability to prepare meals efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

• Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.

• A reliable, professional and flexible approach to work.

• A relevant food hygiene qualification is desirable.
