We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Chemistry Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Lancaster (LA1) on a full-time basis to cover a maternity leave. This role will commence on 6th October 2026 and offers the opportunity to make a real impact within a supportive and well-established Science department.

The Role

As a Chemistry Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop their scientific knowledge and curiosity. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of teaching and learning while supporting students to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Contribute to the wider success of the Science department.
The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this position, candidates must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Have proven experience teaching Chemistry at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Be committed to raising standards and achieving excellent outcomes for students.
  • Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
