Chief Financial Officer - Tobermore

One of Northern Ireland's leading independently owned businesses is appointing its first Chief Financial Officer.

Tobermore is among the UK and Ireland's leading manufacturers of paving and walling products, with turnover of more than £90m, over 415 employees and significant ongoing investment.

The Board is looking for a value creator.

Tobermore has exceptional financial foundations, an experienced finance team and high-quality MI already in place. The opportunity is to add a further layer of strategic and commercial financial leadership as the business enters its next phase of growth.

More than £70m has been invested over the last seven years, a major new automated manufacturing facility is under construction, and the ambition is to double turnover again over the next five years through organic growth and acquisition.

The successful CFO will ask the questions the business has not yet asked of itself about acquisition, financing, return on investment, capacity, capital allocation, product mix, and pricing. They will bring external perspective, challenge constructively, and use financial insight to influence the direction of the business rather than simply report on performance.

We are looking for a track record at CFO, Finance Director, or equivalent level, ideally gained within manufacturing, a capital-intensive business, or another operationally complex environment. Board-level credibility is essential, and experience with acquisitions would be highly relevant.

Most importantly, we are looking for imagination, originality and the confidence to use them. Candidates should be able to demonstrate where they have personally influenced major commercial decisions and created measurable value.
