Are you an experienced safeguarding professional ready to make an immediate impact? As a Child Protection Chair, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding practice, quality assurance and care planning for children and young people. Reporting into the Service Manager for Quality Assurance, you will be at the centre of complex decision-making, driving best practice, challenging poor performance and ensuring children's voices remain at the heart of every plan. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Child Protection Chair to join a high-performing service and influence outcomes from day one.
Your Role as Child Protection Chair:
- Chair Child Protection Conferences and Independent Reviewing Officer meetings, ensuring statutory compliance and effective decision-making.
• Champion the voice of the child, ensuring plans are SMART, outcome-focused and responsive to individual needs.
• Lead on quality assurance, undertaking audits, reviews and inspections to drive continuous improvement.
• Provide robust challenge and oversight where practice falls below expected standards, while promoting excellence across services.
• Strengthen multi-agency partnerships through effective collaboration, professional consultation and specialist advice.
Your Previous Experience as a Child Protection Chair:
- Professional Social Work qualification with registration through Social Work England.
• Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience within Children's Statutory Services.
• Significant experience chairing complex and challenging multi-agency meetings.
• Strong knowledge of childcare legislation, safeguarding regulations and statutory guidance.
• Proven background in quality assurance, auditing and constructive challenge within a statutory setting.
