What We're Looking For
- Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Children & Young People's Workforce, Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory or management role within children's residential care
- Experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviours
- Experience supporting children with Learning Disabilities (desirable)
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
- Good IT and administrative skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and partner agencies
- Passion for delivering high-quality, child-centred care
- Flexible approach to working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Applicants must be aged 21 or over in line with residential childcare regulations
- Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for this position)
- Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day leadership and management of the home
- Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence
- Lead on report writing, care planning and risk assessments
- Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings when required
- Support the delivery of high-quality, safe and nurturing care for children and young people
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families and external professionals
- Supervise, mentor and support the residential staff team
- Promote safeguarding, positive outcomes and person-centred care
- Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and organisational policies
- Maintain accurate records and regulatory documentation
- Gain practical experience across all aspects of residential home management as part of ongoing professional development
- Work a rota averaging 37.5 hours per week, consisting of three administrative days (9:00am–4:30pm) and one full shift supporting the team
