Salary: £16.00 - £18.00 per hour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a well-established children's residential provider in Newcastle to recruit a Deputy Manager Children's Home. This welcoming setting provides a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for young people aged 8 to 18, placing a strong emphasis on promoting positive outcomes, independence and emotional well-being through a child-centred approach.

The home is looking to appoint a Deputy Manager Children's Home on a long-term basis with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful Deputy Manager Children's Home will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, lead and mentor the care team, ensure high standards of care are maintained, and provide support to young people with EBD, SEMH, Autism and Learning Disabilities. Day and sleep-in shifts are available.

The successful Deputy Manager Children's Home will have:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards)
  • Previous experience working within a children's residential setting
  • Experience supporting children and young people with EBD, SEMH, Autism and Learning Disabilities
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • A child-focused approach with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Flexibility to work day and sleep-in shifts
