Residential Support Worker – Children's Home

Location: Erdington, Birmingham
Salary: £25,500- £26,500 per annum + £75 per sleep-in
Hours: Full-time
Sleep-ins: 8 per month
Shift Pattern: 10:00am – 10:30am the following day

About the Role

We are looking for caring, dedicated and resilient Residential Support Workers to join a children's residential home in Erdington.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and young people and helping them achieve positive outcomes in a safe, nurturing environment.

You will work as part of a dedicated team, providing high-quality care and support while building positive, trusting relationships with the children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, child-centred care and support.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
  • Support children with their daily routines, education and activities.
  • Promote independence, confidence and positive development.
  • Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
  • Support children with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Record and report important information accurately.
  • Work effectively as part of the wider staff team.
  • Participate in activities, appointments and community outings.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming and supportive home environment.
  • Complete sleep-in duties as part of the rota.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Reliable, professional and committed to safeguarding.
  • Comfortable working sleep-in shifts.
  • A driver with a full UK driving licence.

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 / Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, Children & Young People, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is essential.
  • Experience within a children's residential setting is highly desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to complete 8 sleep-in shifts per month.
