We are looking for a caring, resilient and child‑focused Children’s Residential Support Worker to join our established team in Ilford. About the Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key part in supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma, emotional or behavioural difficulties (EBD), or learning difficulties. You’ll help create a safe, stable and positive home environment where they can feel valued, listened to and supported.

Your role will include:

• Providing day‑to‑day care, emotional support and guidance

• Supporting children with routines, education, activities and life skills

• Building trusting, professional relationships

• Managing challenging behaviours using training and a calm, consistent approach

• Ensuring safeguarding is always prioritised and concerns are reported correctly

• Keeping accurate records, reports and daily logs

• Working closely with the wider team, management, and external professionals

• Supporting the home to maintain high standards and a positive, nurturing culture

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children or young people (residential, education, youth work, care or similar)

• A calm, patient and resilient approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Willingness to learn, complete training and develop professionally

• Understanding of safeguarding, boundaries and trauma‑informed practice

• Ability to remain professional and consistent during challenging situations
