Airmid Healthcare is looking for passionate, reliable and experienced Children’s Residential Support Workers to join our growing team in Newport, Wales .

We have opportunities for experienced Support Workers who want flexible work, regular shifts and the opportunity to make a genuine difference to children and young people.

The Role

As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will provide day-to-day care, support and encouragement to children and young people living within residential settings.

You will help create a safe, stable and supportive environment , while encouraging young people to develop their confidence, independence and life skills.

Your duties may include:

  • Providing high-quality emotional and practical support.
  • Supporting children and young people with daily routines.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships.
  • Supporting activities, education and recreational opportunities.
  • Encouraging independence and personal development.
  • Following individual care plans and risk assessments.
  • Supporting young people who may display challenging behaviour.
  • Maintaining accurate daily records and care documentation.
  • Working alongside colleagues, families and other professionals.
  • Following safeguarding procedures and maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Promoting the welfare, dignity and safety of every young person.
What We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people .
  • Experience within residential care, supported accommodation, education, SEN or social care.
  • A caring, patient and compassionate approach.
  • Confidence supporting challenging behaviours.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts.
  • A genuine passion for helping children and young people.

Relevant qualifications in Children’s Residential Care, Health & Social Care, Autism, SEN, trauma-informed care or behavioural support are desirable.
