Children’s Residential Support Worker – Bridgwater

Are you passionate about making a difference in young people's lives? We are seeking dedicated Children’s Residential Support Workers to join a family-run residential service in Bridgwater. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support children and young people with complex needs, including attachment issues, trauma, special educational needs, ASD, and ADHD, in a therapeutically supportive environment.

Based in Bridgwater, this role is ideal for individuals committed to fostering stability, trust, and emotional well-being in young residents. The service provides a safe and nurturing home where positive relationships and consistency help young people address their past experiences and develop resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people to participate in activities and develop independence.
  • Maintain a safe, homely environment aligned with individual care plans.
  • Handle challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically.
  • Promote the emotional and physical well-being of young residents.
  • Build strong working relationships with social workers, psychologists, and families.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies are followed at all times.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence is essential, with the ability to transport young people when required.
  • Experience working in residential care or with children and young people (preferred but not essential).
  • Willingness to undertake relevant qualifications, including NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People, which is fully funded.
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to making a positive impact.
