Children's Residential Support Worker

Salary: 30,272 to £34,275 ( Inclusive of sleep-ins)

Location Cardiff

Join our client’s energetic and supportive team as a Residential Support Worker, where you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing, safe, and therapeutic environment for children with diverse needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Be part of a caring team that offers a safe, loving, and homely environment for children and young people.
  • Deliver tailored therapeutic care, supporting each child's individual development.
  • Act as a positive role model by meeting daily living needs and encouraging independence.
  • Foster trust and build meaningful relationships through compassionate support.
  • Engage with the children in outdoor activities, hobbies such as arts and fashion, and shared interests.
  • Assist with household chores, including cooking and cleaning.
  • Provide emotional support, helping children to reach their full potential in challenging situations.
  • Encourage decision-making and promote confidence in everyday tasks.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Previous experience working with children and young people.
  • Naturally caring, energetic, and positive attitude.
  • Strong communication skills with a fun and engaging manner.
  • Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and sleep-ins.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3/5 in health and social care or related fields desirable 
  • Experience working in a therapeutic or residential setting
