BRC are recruiting on behalf of a well-established children's residential care provider in the Vale of Glamorgan for Registered Children's Home Workers, with both Days and Waking Nights positions available on a permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people  working within a registered children's home

About the Roles
Days
  • Supporting young people to build positive relationships with family, external agencies and the wider community
  • Key-working responsibilities using a child-centred, kind and empathic approach
  • Recording and evidencing key work activity in line with regulatory requirements
  • Supporting the management team with risk, safeguarding and compliance
Waking Nights
  • Awake throughout the night shift, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of young people and responding to their needs
  • Following individual care and support plans, including any nighttime observation requirements
  • Safe storage/administration of medication in line with policy and legislation
  • Completing health and safety checks and handover notes, and supporting a smooth handover between shifts
Both roles share the same underlying purpose: helping create a warm, welcoming, non-judgemental home where young people feel empowered and can thrive.
What's on Offer
  • Permanent position (Days: full-time hours; Waking Nights: 35 hours per week)
  • Competitive salary Days up to £31,500, Waking Nights up to £27,500 per annum depending on experience and qualification

What We're Looking For
  • Current registration (or willingness to register) with Social Care Wales
  • QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People), or working towards
  • Experience working within safeguarding frameworks and understanding the impact of trauma on children and young people
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Applicants must be aged 22+ (exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1)
  • Enhanced DBS check required
