Civil Design Engineer

Altera Recruitment Group is partnering with an innovative engineering consultancy operating across the UK water and wastewater sectors to recruit a Civil Design Engineer.

This is an opportunity to join a forward thinking engineering business using technologies such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) and 3D scanning to improve the accuracy, efficiency and safety of project delivery. The successful candidate will support the Lead Design Engineer in delivering multidisciplinary water and wastewater projects, contributing to technical design, site surveys and coordinated engineering documentation.

Working across the full design lifecycle, from concept through to detailed design and construction, this role would suit an engineer with water sector experience who enjoys combining practical engineering knowledge with modern design technology.

Key Responsibilities of the Civil Design Engineer

  • Support the delivery of water and wastewater engineering projects from initial concept through to detailed design and construction.
  • Undertake site visits and surveys using 3D scanning equipment to support accurate engineering design.
  • Produce technical drawings, specifications, schedules and supporting design documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Coordinate design information across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring technical deliverables are accurate, compliant and completed within agreed timescales.
  • Contribute to sustainable, energy efficient and maintainable infrastructure solutions, taking account of relevant standards, environmental requirements and engineering risks.

Candidate Requirements

  • HNC, HND, BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Previous experience within the water or wastewater sector.
  • Practical experience using Revit and AutoCAD, with the ability to produce coordinated engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Understanding of BIM processes and experience working within a Common Data Environment.
  • Strong communication, organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

What's on Offer

  • Salary of up to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Annual performance related bonus of up to 10%.
  • Health cash plan, standard pension scheme and cycle to work scheme.
  • Flexible start times between 07:30 and 09:00, a 7.5 hour working day, an annual pay review in April and a performance review in November.

If you are a Civil Design Engineer with water or wastewater experience and are looking for an opportunity to develop your career within an innovative engineering consultancy, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
