We are looking for an experienced Civils Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction business based in Farnborough, Hampshire.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructure who enjoys working across both estimating and commercial functions.
The Role
- Preparing accurate estimates and tenders for civils and groundworks projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Completing detailed take-offs and measurements
- Pricing labour, materials, plant and subcontract packages
- Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Preparing bills of quantities and tender returns
- Supporting the commercial team with cost planning and procurement
- Managing project costs from tender through to completion
- Preparing valuations, variations and final accounts
- Monitoring project expenditure and commercial performance
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
- Attending site visits and tender meetings where required
- Maintaining accurate estimating and cost information
About You
- Previous experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor or Estimator/QS
- Strong background in civils, groundworks or civil engineering
- Good understanding of construction costs, measurements and procurement
- Experience pricing tenders and analysing subcontractor quotations
- Commercially aware with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicating with clients, suppliers and site teams
- Able to work independently and manage multiple tenders/projects
- Full UK driving licence preferred
