Civils Estimator

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Collaborate with design teams and project managers to develop accurate budgets and timelines.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information necessary for precise costing.
• Manage and control project budgets throughout the bidding process and project execution phases.
• Identify potential risks or cost overruns early on and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Review subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring competitive pricing without compromising quality.
• Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, assumptions, and cost adjustments for transparency and future reference.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Civil Estimator or similar role within the construction or civil engineering sector.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
• Demonstrated ability in cost control techniques to manage budgets effectively.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail when reviewing technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in estimating software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy in all estimations.
