This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civils professional to take responsibility for supervising site activities, managing teams and subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of civil engineering works, working closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager and wider project team to achieve programme, quality and safety objectives.
What you will be doing:
·Supervise and coordinate daily civil engineering activities on site.
·Manage site operatives, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
·Ensure all works are delivered in line with project drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
·Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and method statements.
·Coordinate with Site Engineers and Project Managers to ensure accurate setting out and delivery of works.
·Monitor progress on site and report any issues, delays or risks to the project team.
·Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
·Lead daily briefings, toolbox talks and site coordination meetings.
·Ensure all works are completed to the required quality standards and client expectations.
·Assist with planning resources, materials and labour requirements.
·Manage interfaces between civil works, subcontractors and other project disciplines.
·Identify and communicate any changes, variations or potential issues to the site management team.
·Promote a positive safety culture and ensure all site activities follow company procedures.
What you will need:
Suitable candidates will have:
·Proven experience working as a Civils Foreman within infrastructure, utilities, energy or major civil engineering projects.
·Strong experience supervising civil construction works and site teams.
·SMSTS or SSSTS qualification beneficial.
·Experience working with subcontractors and managing site activities.
·Good understanding of civil engineering practices, drawings and specifications.
·Experience working on projects involving groundworks, utilities, drainage, concrete works or associated civil infrastructure.
·Strong health and safety awareness with the ability to lead by example.
·Excellent communication and organisational skills.
·Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment.
·A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
