A well-established, medium-sized civil engineering contractor delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across the North West of England.

Working with both public and private sector clients, we specialise in renewable energy, wastewater, utilities, highways and general infrastructure schemes.

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Civils General Foreman to join our expanding operations team.

The Role

As a Civils General Foreman, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the highest quality standards.

You will lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors and work closely with Site Managers and Project Managers to successfully deliver a diverse range of civil engineering projects.

Projects will include:

Renewable energy infrastructure
Wastewater and water treatment works
Highways and public realm
Drainage and earthworks
Utilities and infrastructure
Reinforced concrete structures and associated civils works
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily site activities.
Lead site operatives, plant and subcontractors to achieve programme targets.
Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures and current legislation.
Deliver works in line with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inductions.
Monitor productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers, clients and supply chain partners.
Ensure materials, plant and labour are available to meet programme requirements.
Complete site records including diaries, permits, inspections and quality documentation.
Promote high standards of housekeeping and environmental compliance.
Assist in planning and sequencing works to minimise delays.
Mentor and support junior operatives and supervisors.

About You

You will be an experienced Foreman with a strong background in civil engineering projects and a proven ability to lead teams on site.

Essential:

Previous experience as a General Foreman or Foreman within the civil engineering sector.
Experience delivering infrastructure, wastewater, utilities or renewable energy projects.
Strong leadership and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
Commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Willingness to travel across the North West.
Qualifications

Essential:

SSSTS or SMSTS
CSCS Gold or Black Card
First Aid at Work
Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

Temporary Works Supervisor
CPCS/NPORS Plant Competence
Confined Space Training
EUSR Water Hygiene
NRSWA Supervisor
