Pay Rates

• £16.00 per hour (PAYE)
• £17.93 per hour with holiday pay rolled up into your hourly rate
• Overtime paid at time X1.5 After 8.75 hours per shift 

The Role

We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 (C+E) Day Drivers for a variety of temporary and ongoing contracts across Greater Manchester.

Our clients operate a mixture of curtain-sided and flatbed trailers, offering varied work across a range of industries. Deliveries may include palletised freight, concrete products, steel, pipes, building materials and other industrial goods.

This role is best suited to drivers who are confident operating both curtain-sided and flatbed trailers and who have experience securing loads safely using straps and other load restraint equipment.

Typical start times are between 6:00am and 7:00am, with day shifts offering regular hours.

Duties Include

• Driving Class 1 (C+E) curtain-sided and flatbed vehicles.
• Delivering palletised goods, concrete products, pipes, steel and other construction and industrial materials.
• Safely securing loads using ratchet straps and other load restraint methods.
• Opening and closing curtains where required.
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks.
• Completing delivery documentation accurately.
• Providing a professional and courteous service to customers.
• Complying with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and road transport legislation.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence held for a minimum of 1 to 2 years.
• At least 10 months to 1 year's Class 1 driving experience.
• Previous experience operating both flatbed and curtain-sided trailers.
• Be confident and competent in securing loads using ratchet straps.
• A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence.
• No endorsements that have resulted in a driving ban or disqualification.
• A good understanding of Driver Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
• A professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach to work.
• Must have their own hard hat along with Correct PPE
