About the Role

Freeway Recruitment is currently recruiting an experienced Class 1 Driver for ongoing night trunking work with one of our well-established logistics clients based in the Greater Manchester area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional Class 1 Driver looking for regular Monday to Friday work, excellent rates of pay and immediate starts.

The role involves transporting secure SPX cargo on scheduled trunking routes between distribution centres. Due to the nature of the work, a valid Cargo Operative Card is essential and must be held before starting.

Shift Information

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

Start Times: Between 5:00pm and 7:00pm

Average Shift Length: 10-12 hours

Work Type: Night Trunking

Delivery Type: Depot-to-depot trunk runs

Weekend Requirement: None

Key Responsibilities

As a Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

• Completing scheduled night trunking routes between distribution centres
• Transporting secure SPX cargo safely and efficiently
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
• Completing all delivery paperwork accurately
• Maintaining communication with the transport office
• Providing a professional service at all collection and delivery points
• Working in full compliance with Driver Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive and all road transport legislation
• Operating company vehicles safely and responsibly at all times

Requirements

We're looking for a reliable and professional Class 1 Driver who takes pride in delivering a safe and dependable service.

To be considered, you'll need:

• A valid UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
• Class 1 licence held for a minimum of 12 months
• At least 6-12 months recent Class 1 driving experience
• A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A valid Cargo Operative Card (Essential)
• No more than 6 penalty points
• No endorsements that have resulted in a driving disqualification or ban
• A good understanding of Driver Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• A reliable, flexible and safety-conscious approach to work

Preferred Experience

Previous experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

Night trunking

Depot-to-depot transport

Air freight or secure cargo operations

General haulage
