Salary: Starting from £38,000 per annum
Working pattern: Monday to Friday

About the Role

I.J. McGill Transport Ltd is looking for a reliable and professional HGV Class 2 Multi-Drop Driver to join our team.

You will be responsible for completing collections and deliveries to customers across an allocated route, ensuring goods are transported safely, securely and efficiently.

As one of our drivers, you will represent the company at customer premises, so a professional, helpful and customer-focused approach is important.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete multi-drop collections and deliveries safely and efficiently.

• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.

• Ensure goods are appropriately secured and handled with care.

• Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain the required proof of delivery.

• Comply with drivers’ hours, Working Time Directive and road transport regulations.

• Follow all company health and safety procedures.

• Communicate effectively with the transport team regarding delays, issues or changes to the route.

• Provide friendly and professional customer service at collection and delivery points.

• Keep the vehicle’s cab clean and presentable.

What We’re Looking For

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• A valid Category C (Class 2) driving licence.

• A valid Driver CPC qualification card.

• A valid Digital Tachograph Card.

• An acceptable driving record with no recent serious driving offences.

• A good understanding of road safety and drivers’ hours regulations.

• Good time-management and organisational skills.

• A reliable, flexible and professional approach.

• The ability to communicate confidently with customers and colleagues.

Previous multi-drop or pallet distribution experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential, as appropriate support and familiarisation will be provided.
