Class 2 Driver

Location: Basildon, Essex
Salary: £17.36 per hour
Hours: 08:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent

We are looking for a professional and experienced Class 2 Driver to join a leading manufacturing team in Basildon, Essex. This is a great opportunity for an experienced driver who takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, works safely and efficiently, and has a strong understanding of transport legislation and compliance.

Duties of the Class 2 Driver:

• Safely and efficiently deliver and collect goods
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects promptly
• Load and unload vehicles, ensuring all loads are safely secured and within legal weight limits
• Accurately complete delivery notes, collection paperwork and check loaded goods to ensure the correct products are delivered to the correct locations
• Work closely with the transport team, suppliers and customers
• Report any accidents, incidents and near misses in accordance with company procedures
• Comply with drivers' hours, working time regulations and all relevant transport legislation

What we're looking for:

• A valid HGV Class 2 Licence and a valid Driver CPC qualification
• Previous experience within a logistics distribution and supply chain enviroment
• A full, clean UK driving licence
• Excellent knowledge and experience of driving in London
• Physically fit and able to undertake manual handling duties
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach to work
