Search Consultancy is recruiting dependable Class 2 (Category C) Drivers for high-capacity logistics, distribution, and site supply operations operating across the North East region. Offering substantial working hours ranging from 45 up to 66 hours per week, this opportunity is ideal for dedicated professional drivers seeking top earning potential, routine routes, and reliable regional work.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Operating rigid Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently, your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Regional Transport & Distribution: Executing multi-drop delivery runs, trunking, or site material transport across the North East highway network.

  • Vehicle & Load Safety: Conducting thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring loads are properly strapped, curtained, or secured prior to transit.

  • Tacho & Working Time Compliance: Operating strictly within EU Driver Hours regulations, Working Time Directive (WTD) guidelines, and maintaining accurate digital tachograph records across long-hour shifts.

  • Site & Hub Interaction: Courteously representing the business at client hubs, regional depots, commercial sites, and customer delivery points.

  • Paperwork & ePOD: Completing proof of delivery (POD) paperwork, recording delivery times, and reporting any route delays, vehicle defects, or delivery discrepancies immediately to transport planners.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

To satisfy client site regulations and health & safety compliance, all applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • HGV License: Valid UK Category C (Class 2) driving license with no more than 6 penalty points (no active DD, DR, or IN endorsements for insurance purposes).

  • Driver CPC & Tacho: Valid Driver Qualification Card (CPC) and Digital Tachograph Card.

  • Driving Experience: Proven commercial experience driving Class 2 rigid vehicles across regional distribution or logistics networks.

  • Compliance Knowledge: Thorough understanding of EU Driver's Hours, Working Time Directive (WTD) rules, and tachograph record-keeping.

  • Shift Capability: Reliability, stamina, and flexibility to commit to variable shift schedules ranging from 45 to 66 hours per week.

  • Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.
