The Role

You will undertake statutory building control inspections, assess compliance with the Building Regulations, and work collaboratively with clients, contractors, designers, and duty holders to ensure projects meet all relevant legislative and technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site inspections on a variety of building projects, including higher-risk buildings where appropriate.
• Assess plans and construction work for compliance with the Building Regulations and associated legislation.
• Prepare accurate inspection records and technical reports.
• Identify non-compliant work and provide clear guidance on remedial actions.
• Liaise with developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and clients throughout the construction process.
• Maintain high standards of professional practice and regulatory compliance.
• Manage your own workload and travel efficiently between sites.

Requirements

• Registered Building Inspector – Class 3H (essential).
• Strong knowledge of the Building Act, Building Regulations, and associated Approved Documents.
• Experience inspecting complex commercial, residential, and higher-risk building projects.
• Excellent communication, report-writing, and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent client relationships.
