Cleaner and Packer at Universal Science Group, Milton Keynes

Cleaner and Packer, permanent (and you finish at 12 on Fridays)

Location: Milton Keynes, MK11 3HD

Salary: £13.50 per hour

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm Monday – Thursday and 8am – 12pm on Friday

Contract: Full time, Permanent

Some people walk into a room and see the mess. You walk in and see how much better it could look. If that sounds like you, we’d love to meet you.

We’re Universal Science, a Milton Keynes manufacturer that’s been going for over 24 years. We make custom parts for customers in electronics and electric vehicles, and we’re looking for someone to help keep our workplace clean, safe and a genuinely nice place to be.

What You’ll Be Doing

Part of your day goes on keeping the place looking good: the factory floor, offices, kitchen and toilets. The rest goes on packing our finished parts carefully so they reach customers in perfect condition. You’ll be the reason the kitchen is somewhere people want to prepare their lunch, and the reason our customers open a box and think “these people know what they’re doing.” It matters, and we’ll tell you so.

Who We’re Looking For

Someone who takes pride in doing a job properly and notices the little things other people walk past. Experience is helpful but not essential, because we’ll show you everything you need to know. Whether you’re early in your working life or have plenty of years behind you, what matters is that you care about doing it well.

A Job You Can Settle Into

This is a permanent role with a steady, friendly team. It isn’t agency work and it isn’t a short-term contract.

Your Hours

8am – 5pm Monday – Thursday, and 8am – 12pm on Friday, with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks a day. Overtime is available if you’d like it.

What You Get

• 22 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, with three days kept for the Christmas shutdown
• A discretionary bonus when the company does well
• Pension that puts in 1% more than the legal minimum
• Free parking, tea and coffee
• Employee of the Year wins a trip abroad, and the person who keeps the whole place running has every chance of winning it
