Cleaner

BBS Recruitment is an independent recruitment agency for the transport and logistics sector, supplying to a variety of clients across all UK.

We are currently recruiting a Cleaner for our client based in Pontypridd.

The Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across all internal areas of the school. Cleaners will be allocated a designated area to clean each day and will be expected to complete all duties efficiently and to the required standard.

Key Responsibilities for the Cleaner

• Clean and maintain allocated areas of the school, including classrooms, corridors, toilets, staff rooms, offices, school halls, indoor sports areas, changing rooms and communal areas.
• Sanitise toilet facilities, including toilets, sinks, floors, soap dispensers, hand dryers, cubicles and exposed pipework.
• Vacuum, sweep and mop floors across allocated areas, ensuring all surfaces are left clean and hygienic.
• Dust and clean skirting boards, window sills, shelves, desks and other hard furnishings.
• Clean and sanitise sports facilities and changing rooms, including shower areas and cubicles.
• Clean and sanitise staff room sinks, work surfaces, floors and other hard furnishings.
• Empty waste bins throughout the building and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Use cleaning equipment, including scrubber-dryer machines, where required and following appropriate training.
• Follow health and safety, COSHH and school cleaning procedures at all times.
• Maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the allocated area.
• Report any maintenance issues, damage, hazards or shortages of cleaning supplies to the appropriate person.

Training & Support:

Full training will be provided, including instruction on the safe and effective use of cleaning equipment and relevant workplace procedures.

Working pattern: Mon to Fri 3pm start (Mon - Thurs 2hrs 45mins & Fri 2hrs 30mins)

Requirements for Cleaner:

• Enhanced DBS
• Previous cleaning experience is desirable
• Able to follow cleaning schedules, instructions and health & safety procedures.
•  Good understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards.
