What You'll Be Doing
As a Cleaner, you'll be responsible for delivering high standards of cleanliness across council properties. Working independently and as part of a supportive team, your duties will include:
- Cleaning offices, corridors, stairways, and communal areas.
- Sweeping, mopping, polishing floors, and vacuuming carpets.
- Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities.
- Using mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Cleaning fixtures, fittings, and other assigned areas to a high standard.
- Supporting council events when required, including cloakroom and light kitchen duties.
- Following all health and safety procedures and customer care standards.
- Helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Experience carrying out cleaning duties, including the use of cleaning equipment.
- Experience using and storing cleaning chemicals safely in line with health and safety regulations.
- A strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a busy team.
