What You'll Be Doing

As a Cleaner, you'll be responsible for delivering high standards of cleanliness across council properties. Working independently and as part of a supportive team, your duties will include:

• Cleaning offices, corridors, stairways, and communal areas.
• Sweeping, mopping, polishing floors, and vacuuming carpets.
• Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities.
• Using mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Cleaning fixtures, fittings, and other assigned areas to a high standard.
• Supporting council events when required, including cloakroom and light kitchen duties.
• Following all health and safety procedures and customer care standards.
• Helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• Experience carrying out cleaning duties, including the use of cleaning equipment.
• Experience using and storing cleaning chemicals safely in line with health and safety regulations.
• A strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a busy team.
