Location: Bristol (BS1), covering the South West region, including Bristol, Bath, Somerset, Minehead and Barnstaple

Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday - Friday | Flexible hours between 07:00 and 22:00

Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Cleaning Supervisor to provide direct line management to front-line Placemakers and support all aspects of self-delivered activities within the aligned UK sector.

Job Overview

This role is responsible for supporting frontline cleaning teams and ensuring the effective delivery of services across a portfolio of sites within the South West region. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day leadership, maintain strong customer relationships and help ensure contractual obligations are met.

The Cleaning Supervisor will play a key role in supporting operational performance, health and safety compliance, employee development and recruitment activities. The position requires a flexible and organised individual who can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of service delivery.

A full UK driving licence is essential, and a company van will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct line management and day-to-day support to front-line Placemakers.
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships to support effective service delivery.
  • Support account management teams in delivering high standards of service and performance across Key Account Network accounts.
  • Work closely with the job management team to ensure contractual SLA and KPI requirements are achieved.
  • Conduct planned visits with each Placemaker, ensuring individuals are visited at least every six weeks.
  • Oversee health and safety compliance, complete audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage employee inductions, training records, mandatory e-learning compliance and ongoing development activities.
  • Coordinate recruitment and vetting activities, ensuring compliance requirements are met and vacancies are filled within required timescales.
  • Manage reactive work requests, including carpet cleaning and low-level weeding, ensuring timely completion.
  • Monitor consumable stock levels, coordinate uniform orders, maintain tidy store rooms and complete site audits.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience within the cleaning industry.
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience managing staff records and training documentation.
  • Strong customer service and client relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to support, motivate and develop frontline colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Flexible, adaptable and proactive approach to work.
  • Full UK driving licence.
