We are currently recruiting for an experienced Clerk of Works to join a well-established construction and property consultancy, working across a strong pipeline of residential and education projects in East London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong construction professional who is passionate about quality, compliance and delivering projects to a high standard.

You will work closely with contractors, consultants and project teams, carrying out inspections and ensuring that construction works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, regulations and required quality standards.

The Role

As Clerk of Works, you will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking regular site inspections and monitoring construction works.
  • Ensuring works comply with drawings, specifications and relevant standards.
  • Identifying defects, quality issues and areas of non-compliance.
  • Producing detailed inspection reports and maintaining accurate site records.
  • Liaising with contractors and project teams to address quality issues.
  • Monitoring workmanship, materials and construction methods.
  • Attending site meetings and providing technical advice where required.
  • Supporting projects through to practical completion and handover.
  • Maintaining a strong focus on quality throughout the construction process.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Clerk of Works / Site Inspector / Quality Inspector with a strong technical construction background.

You will need:

  • MCIOB or CABE membership – essential.
  • Experience working on residential and/or education projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and standards.
  • Previous experience undertaking site inspections and identifying defects.
  • Excellent reporting and communication skills.
  • The confidence to liaise with contractors, consultants and clients.
  • A strong eye for detail and commitment to construction quality.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

Package

  • £55,000 – £65,000, depending on experience.
  • Car allowance.
