Clerk of Works – Planned & External Works

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Clerk of Works to join a growing planned works team delivering a £700k annual programme across social housing.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring quality on-site across a range of external works, holding contractors to account and making sure projects are delivered to the right standard, first time.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out site inspections across:
  • External decking works
  • Roofline works (fascias, soffits, gutters)
  • Cyclical decoration and refurbishments
• Ensuring works meet specifications, H&S standards, and regulations
• Identifying defects, managing snagging, and driving quality improvements
• Monitoring contractor performance and progress
• Reporting on site quality and liaising with internal teams

What We’re Looking For

- Experience as a Clerk of Works or Site Inspector

-  Background in social housing / planned maintenance

-  Strong knowledge of external works and cyclical programmes

-  Confident managing contractors and challenging poor quality

-  Good understanding of H&S and building regulations
