What you'll actually be doing and why it matters

How often do you get the opportunity to influence the delivery of a Building Management Systems contract covering more than 800 sites across England?

This is a chance to play a pivotal role in the operational delivery of one of the UK's largest multi-site BMS service portfolios, supporting a nationally significant estate of more than 800 sites stretching from Newcastle to Cornwall
Working remotely and travelling when required, you'll collaborate with customers, regional delivery teams, remote monitoring specialists and subcontractors across the UK, helping to ensure a consistent, high-quality service across a large and complex estate. You'll become the link between the customer, regional engineering teams, remote monitoring specialists and subcontractors, building trusted relationships that keep service delivery moving forward. Your ability to communicate clearly, coordinate multiple stakeholders and build confidence with customers will be every bit as important as your technical understanding. This is a people-focused operational role within the Building Controls sector, rather than a hands-on engineering position.

Why this move could be better

Many facilities, maintenance and engineering management roles are focused on a single region, contract or portfolio. This opportunity gives you exposure to one of the UK's largest multi-site BMS service contracts, supporting hundreds of sites and working alongside teams throughout the country. You'll gain experience helping to deliver a nationally significant estate while building relationships with stakeholders at every level, from site representatives through to senior customer contacts. If you enjoy bringing people together, building trust and driving service excellence across complex environments, this role offers a scale and breadth of responsibility that is difficult to find elsewhere.
  • Over 800 sites across England
  • Regional engineering and service teams throughout the UK
  • Customer stakeholders at site, operational and strategic levels
  • Support from remote monitoring and technical specialists
The scale alone creates opportunities to develop commercially, operationally and professionally that simply don't exist within smaller contracts.   For someone who enjoys relationship building and influencing outcomes across multiple teams, this is the kind of role that can significantly broaden both your experience and professional profile.

Essentials

We're interested in people who understand how technical service contracts operate and know how to build strong relationships with customers and delivery teams. You may currently work within:
  • Building Controls / BMS
  • Facilities Management
  • Hard FM
  • Building Services Maintenance
  • Service Delivery
  • Contract Management
  • Technical Facilities Management
You'll bring:
  • Experience managing or supporting large, geographically dispersed property, facilities or engineering portfolios
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing skills
  • Excellent communication, organisation and coordination abilities
  • The ability to build credibility with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A customer-first approach and genuine relationship-building skills
Previous BMS experience would be beneficial, but you do not need to be a controls expert. The successful person is far more likely to be recognised for their communication skills, customer focus and ability to coordinate complex service delivery environments than for deep technical knowledge.

The challenge
Supporting a portfolio of this scale means balancing the needs of hundreds of sites, multiple regional teams and a wide range of customer stakeholders. The people who thrive in this environment enjoy bringing structure to complexity, building productive working relationships and finding practical solutions when priorities change. It's a role that rewards organisation, communication and the ability to influence outcomes across a nationally distributed team.

Your development
Few roles offer exposure to a BMS estate of this size. You'll gain experience supporting a nationally significant portfolio, working alongside engineering, monitoring, commercial and operational teams across the UK. For somebody currently operating within a regional contract, local authority, FM provider or maintenance organisation, this represents an opportunity to broaden both your operational influence and industry profile within the growing Building Controls sector.

Practicalities
  • Home-based role
  • National remit
  • Travel across the UK as required
  • Salary up to £65,000
  • £7,297.50 car allowance
  • Private healthcare
  • Enhanced pension contribution
  • 25 days holiday, increasing with service
  • Additional holiday purchase options
