An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Deputy Manager to join the leadership team of a brand-new luxury care home opening in 2026 near Reading.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to be part of a new service from the very beginning, helping to shape its culture, clinical standards and team. The home will provide luxury residential, dementia and nursing care.

Working alongside the Home Manager and Quality team, you will provide clinical leadership, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care while maintaining the highest standards of clinical governance and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities of the Clinical Deputy Manager
  • Support the Home Manager with the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the home.
  • Lead, mentor and supervise the nursing and care teams, promoting a positive and supportive working culture.
  • Ensure safe and effective clinical practice through regular audits, observations and quality assurance processes.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies, CQC standards and clinical best practice.
  • Investigate incidents, complaints and clinical concerns, implementing action plans where required.
  • Complete clinical assessments for prospective residents and support the admissions process.
  • Build effective relationships with residents, families, commissioners and healthcare professionals.
  • Lead clinical review meetings and support continuous quality improvement across the home.
  • Develop and deliver clinical training, workshops and coaching to enhance the skills of the care team.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Home Manager regarding team performance and development.
  • On call duties according to the needs of the home and Home Manager.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Pin.
  • Demonstrable post-registration nursing experience.
  • Previous experience as a Senior Nurse, Clinical Lead or Deputy Manager within an elderly nursing or care home environment is desirable.
  • Previous people management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, audits and quality assurance.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
  • Passion for delivering outstanding, person-centred care for older people.
