Seeking a Cloud FinOps Analyst to collaborate with teams on driving financial accountability, cost transparency, and optimisation across cloud and data platforms. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping and governing the organisation’s cloud financial management practices—ensuring cost efficiency, value realisation, and consuming healthily across Azure and Snowflake environments.
A key focus of the role is leading the FinOps optimisation activities, embedding governance frameworks, and overseeing AKS cost observability using tooling such as Power BI, Kubecost etc. The FinOps Analyst partners closely with Engineering, Data, Cloud Operations, and Finance teams to enable a cost‑efficient, data‑driven cloud ecosystem.
Accountabilities
- Lead the organisation’s FinOps optimisation agenda across cloud and data platforms, with a focus on Snowflake consumption, Kubecost insights, and cloud‑native cost efficiency.
- Analyse cloud and Snowflake spend, identify trends and optimisation opportunities, and provide clear financial and technical recommendations.
- Implement and track cost‑saving actions such as rightsizing, workload scheduling, warehouse optimisation, and waste elimination.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce cloud and data platform cost governance frameworks including tagging, budgeting, guardrails, and accountability processes.
- Oversee cost observability tooling (Kubecost, Snowflake dashboards, cloud cost portals) to ensure visibility of usage, forecasts, and budget performance.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, and financial reporting for cloud and Snowflake platforms, including chargeback/showback models.
- Collaborate with Finance, Engineering, Cloud Ops, and Data teams to embed cost-awareness, support planning cycles, and ensure shared ownership of optimisation outcomes.
Skills Knowledge & Experience
- Strong financial analysis capability, including spend modelling, forecasting, and presenting insights to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial and cloud concepts clearly and concisely.
- Persistent, proactive, and able to navigate organisational complexity to drive meaningful cost outcomes.
- Knowledge of cloud pricing models and platform fundamentals (Azure, Snowflake, Kubecost desirable).
- Experience with FinOps practices and cost management tools, particularly Kubecost and cloud-native cost portals (KQL desirable).
- Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally with Finance and technical teams to support cost visibility and decision‑making.
