Location: Lymington, Hampshire
Hours: 39 hours per week – permanent day shift

TXM Recruit is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering business to recruit an experienced CMM Inspector for its manufacturing facility in Lymington.

Part of an international, FTSE-listed engineering group, the company manufactures complex precision components, assemblies and kit sets for the aerospace, defence, nuclear, marine, energy and land systems sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an AS/EN 9100-certified engineering environment equipped with modern manufacturing and inspection technology.

The Role

As a CMM Inspector, you will ensure precision-engineered components conform to engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements. Working closely with the Quality and Production teams, your responsibilities will include:

  • Inspecting precision components using CMM and manual inspection equipment
  • Adjusting, proving out and, where required, writing CMM programs
  • Performing in-process, first-off and final inspections
  • Operating and multisetting CMM equipment
  • Interpreting complex engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances and GD&T requirements
  • Completing inspection records, quality reports, production control plans and FAIR documentation
  • Raising non-conformance reports and supporting corrective-action investigations
  • Reviewing supplier documentation and escalating quality concerns to the appropriate teams
  • Supporting manufacturing operations to maintain quality and avoid production delays

What we are looking for

The successful candidate should have:

  • At least three years’ experience within a high-precision manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Previous experience as a CMM Inspector, Quality Inspector or Dimensional Inspector
  • Experience operating CMM equipment and adjusting inspection programs
  • A strong understanding of CMM inspection methods and best practice
  • In-depth knowledge of GD&T and the ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience completing first-off, in-process and final inspections
  • Confidence using manual measuring and inspection equipment
  • Strong accuracy, attention to detail and general IT skills
  • The unrestricted right to live and work in the UK

Experience using Mitutoyo CMM equipment, COSMOS or PC-DMIS would be advantageous.

Recognised CMM programmer or operator training is preferred.

An engineering apprenticeship, ONC, HNC or equivalent technical qualification would also be beneficial.

Existing security clearance is desirable but not essential.

Working hours

The permanent dayshift working pattern is Monday to Thursday, 6:45 am–3:30 pm, and Friday, 7:00 am–1:00 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
