Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of one of our clients, a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Gateshead, who are looking to appoint an experienced CMM Operator to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using ZEISS CALYPSO/MCOSMOS software as applicable.
  • Carry out accurate dimensional inspection of manufactured components in line with customer and internal specifications.
  • Undertake visual and dimensional inspections using a range of manual measuring equipment.
  • Interpret and work accurately from engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Review and verify inspection and measurement reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify and report any non-conformances or deviations from specified requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to resolve measurement and quality issues.
  • Support the development and improvement of inspection methods and processes.
  • Ensure all inspection equipment is used correctly and maintained in good working condition.
  • Work to company quality standards and customer-specific requirements at all times.
  • Be willing to work overtime when required to meet customer demands and production requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a CMM Operator / CMM Programmer within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proficient in MCOSMOS CMM software.
  • Experience with offline CMM programming would be advantageous.
  • Strong experience carrying out visual and dimensional inspection using manual measuring equipment.
  • Excellent understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications.
  • Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
  • Experience working to customer-specific specifications and requirements.
  • Confident reviewing, checking and verifying inspection reports.
  • Competent using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
  • A positive, can-do attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Hours Of Work:

Dayshift - Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4:00pm Friday 7:30am - 12:30pm

Nightshift - Monday to Thursday 7:30pm - 4:15am

Pay Rate:

£19.65 to £21.90ph (Depending on Experience)

(Shift allowance of 29.25%)
