Location: Stroud

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £36,000 + Quarterly Bonus + Overtime

Shift Pattern – Double Day Shift (Rotating)

Early Shift

Monday - Thursday: 6:00 am - 2:00 pm

Friday: 6:00 am - 11:30 am

Late Shift

Monday - Thursday: 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Friday: 11:30 am - 5:00 pm

THOMAS Professional are currently recruiting for a skilled CMM Quality Inspector to join a well-established engineering manufacturer based in Stroud on a Double Day Shift pattern.

Overtime Rates

  • Weekdays: 1.5x basic hourly rate
  • Saturday: 1.5x basic hourly rate
  • Sunday: 2x basic hourly rate

Role Responsibilities

As a CMM Quality Inspector, your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections of precision-engineered components
  • Operating CMM equipment to verify dimensional accuracy
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T and customer specifications
  • Using a range of manual measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers, height gauges and bore gauges
  • Recording inspection results and completing quality documentation accurately
  • Identifying non-conforming products and supporting root cause investigations
  • Working closely with Production and Engineering teams to maintain quality standards
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining high standards of housekeeping and health & safety

The Person

The successful CMM Quality Inspector will ideally have:

  • Previous experience within a Quality Inspection role in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating CMM equipment (preferable Aberlink or Mitutoyo)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerances (GD&T)
  • Experience using a wide range of manual inspection equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • A proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement and quality excellence
