About the Opportunity

Bolt Technical are recruiting for a CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering company.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern machining environment, producing complex components for a variety of high-tech industries.

You’ll play a key role on the shop floor, setting, operating, and supporting CNC machining processes to deliver high-quality and efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

Programme, set and operate CNC machining centres

Manufacture complex aerospace components to tight tolerances and customer specifications

Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation

Conduct first-off inspections and in-process quality checks

Complete production, inspection and quality documentation accurately

Ensure all components meet aerospace quality and technical standards

Support efficient machine utilisation and production workflow

Assist with troubleshooting machining and production issues

Carry out routine machine maintenance and daily equipment checks

Operate FLT and overhead crane equipment safely where required

Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment

Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and aerospace manufacturing processes

Support continuous improvement initiatives across the machine shop

What They’re Looking For

Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC machining centres

Experience working with 3, 4 and 5-axis machinery

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

Apprenticeship, NVQ or City & Guilds engineering qualification (desirable)

Strong knowledge of Heidenhain controls (advantageous)

Experience with Fanuc or Mazatrol controls beneficial

Aerospace or other high-precision manufacturing experience preferred

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Good communication and problem-solving skills

Reliable, proactive and team-focused approach

Commitment to safe working practices and continuous improvement
