CNC Machinists (Milling & Turning) – 4 Day Working Week

£24.50 per hour (including shift allowance and night shift premium)
Overtime paid at £31.50 per hour

Jackson Hogg is recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering business in East Cleveland with over 60 years of engineering excellence.

Supplying high-value components into the defence, marine, rail, and power generation sectors, including international exports, this company combines a strong engineering heritage with ongoing investment in modern machinery and a genuine commitment to developing long-term careers for skilled machinists.

Due to sustained growth and increasing workload, we are seeking experienced CNC Turners, Vertical Borers, CNC Millers, and Horizontal Borers to join the team on a permanent basis.

The Role

These positions involve setting, programming, and operating large-format CNC turning, milling, and boring machinery to manufacture precision-engineered components. This is one-off and short-run machining, not production-line work, requiring a high level of skill, accuracy, and engineering judgement.

You will work from engineering drawings, taking components from raw material through to finished product, often machining large, technically challenging, and safety-critical parts.

What We're Looking For

Time-served machinist with a recognised machine shop apprenticeship

Experience setting and operating CNC turning, vertical boring, milling, or horizontal boring machines

Ability to independently set and run one-off and small batch work from engineering drawings

CNC programming experience (Fanuc experience preferred)

Strong inspection and measurement skills

Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately

Good understanding of tolerances, surface finishes, and machining strategies

Quality-focused approach with excellent attention to detail

Experience working on large or high-value components would be advantageous

Working Hours

Day Shift

• Monday to Thursday
• 07:00 – 17:30

Night Shift

Monday to Wednesday: 19:00 – 05:00

Thursday: 17:30 – 03:30
