Cnc Machinist

Position: CNC Turner Setter/Operator

Location: Nailsworth, Gloucestershire

Hours:

• Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
• Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm

Salary: £27,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)

The Role

We are recruiting for a CNC Turner Setter/Operator to join a busy precision engineering company. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC turning machines to manufacture high-quality batch and one-off precision components.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC turning machinery.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Select appropriate tooling and machine offsets.
• Produce both batch work and one-off components.
• Run machines efficiently to maximise productivity.
• Carry out basic quality checks on finished parts.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Work collaboratively within the production team.

Skills & Experience

• Previous CNC Turning experience.
• Setting and operating CNC lathes.
• Fanuc controls experience preferred.
• Citizen Sliding Head experience advantageous.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Turning and milling knowledge.
• Experience within a precision engineering or subcontract manufacturing environment.
• Apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification desirable.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Candidates with button-pushing/operator experience who are eager to progress into setting will also be considered.
