Workshop Machinist (Manual & CNC) - South Kensington, London

Hours: 35 hours per week

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Workshop Machinist to join a busy engineering workshop in South Kensington. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a highly skilled environment, producing precision prototype and one-off components that support innovative engineering and research projects.

The Role

Working within a well-equipped workshop, you will manufacture high-quality, precision-engineered parts from technical drawings. The work is predominantly prototype and one-off machining rather than batch production, so a high level of accuracy, versatility and problem-solving ability is essential.

Key Responsibilities
Manufacture precision one-off and prototype components.
Set up and operate both manual and CNC machine tools.
Produce components from engineering drawings to tight tolerances.
Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards are met.
Work closely with engineers, designers and workshop colleagues.
Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong experience with manual milling and/or turning.
CNC machining experience, ideally using XYZ CNC machines and/or Mazak CNC lathes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience producing precision components to tight tolerances.
Background in prototype or low-volume machining.
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
