Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: dependent on experience, plus attendance bonus

Job

As a CNC Machinist, you will work within our client's busy machine shop, operating CNC machinery to produce high-quality precision components. You will be part of a skilled production environment, working closely with colleagues and reporting to the team leader to help meet production targets safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

A typical day will involve operating HAAS milling and turning machines, checking drawings and specifications, inspecting finished components, carrying out basic machine checks and keeping your work area organised. You may also assist with set-ups, tooling changes and adjustments where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate HAAS CNC milling and turning machines safely and efficiently.
  • Manufacture components to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Inspect components to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Monitor production output and raise any quality or process concerns.
  • Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
  • Support machine set-ups, tooling changes and offset adjustments where required.
  • Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.

Requirements

This would be an ideal opportunity for someone who has been a CNC operator, CNC setter or machine shop operative in a manufacturing, engineering or precision machining environment.

  • Experience operating HAAS CNC mills and/or lathes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Good understanding of machining tolerances and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
  • A positive attitude, good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
  • Good time management and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
