Are you an experienced CNC Machinist looking for a new opportunity with a precision engineering business where you can develop your skills and progress your career?
We're working with an established manufacturer producing high-quality components for demanding aerospace and defence applications. They're looking for a CNC Machinist to join their growing machine shop and play an important role in its continued development.
You'll be responsible for setting and operating CNC turning machinery, producing one-off and small-batch precision components and ensuring everything is manufactured to the required standards.
The Role
- Set and operate CNC turning machinery to produce precision components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures and machining methods.
- Produce one-off, prototype and small-batch components.
- Carry out first-off, in-process and final dimensional inspections.
- Use precision measuring equipment to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Support conventional machining activities where required.
- Identify opportunities to improve machining methods and efficiency.
- Support the transition of suitable components from manual machining to CNC.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and Inspection teams to resolve issues.
- Previous experience setting and operating CNC machines.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Good knowledge of machining techniques, tooling and manufacturing processes.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- CNC programming/editing experience would be beneficial.
- Experience with conventional lathes or milling machines is advantageous.
