CNC Miller — 5-Axis Setter/Operator | Telford | Permanent

A well-established precision engineering business in Telford, part of a respected manufacturing group with 30+ years' heritage, is looking for a skilled 5-Axis CNC Miller Setter/Operator to join its team. The company manufactures high-precision components for the semiconductor, scientific instruments and medical sectors — genuinely varied, high-value work to exacting quality standards (ISO 9001).

The role:

• Setting and operating 5-axis CNC milling machines — Mikron with 20,000rpm spindles
• Working from engineering drawings to tight tolerances, right first time
• First-off and in-process inspection
• Machining precision components across a range of materials for scientific and medical applications
• Turning capability a bonus — there's an idle lathe that would suit an all-rounder happy to split their time

We're looking for someone with:

• Proven 5-axis milling setting and operating experience
• Heidenhain controls ideal — but a genuinely strong setter/operator on other controls will be considered, as the crossover is quick for a good machinist
• Ability to read engineering drawings and hold tight tolerances
• A background in precision, subcontract or high-spec manufacturing
• Any CNC turning experience a welcome bonus
