Contek Recruitment are currently working exclusively with a precision engineering group, who are looking for a CNC Miller to join their growing team on a full-time, permanent basis.
The company are a quality-focused precision engineering/manufacturing and sub-contract machining company specialising in defence project work and the design and manufacture of superior quality work-holding solutions.
They predominantly supply the nuclear, aerospace and defence, medical, machine tool, automotive, and power generation sectors. The customer base includes blue-chip organisations such as Rolls Royce, Boeing, Siemens, and Toyota to name only a few.
They have capabilities for a range of services, including:
- CNC milling and CNC turning.
- Wire erosion (EDM machining)
- Universal, surface, and jig grinding.
- Precision assembly.
- Vibratory finishing.
- 3D printing.
- CMM Inspection.
JOB ROLE: CNC Miller (Programmer/Setter/Operator)
JOB TYPE: Permanent.
WORKING HOURS: 39 hours per week - Monday to Thursday (7:15am – 4:15pm) and Friday (7:15am – 12:30pm)
OVERTIME: Overtime is consistently available and is paid and time-and-a-half.
HOURLY RATE: £20.00 - £24.00 per hour (Dependent on experience)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Programming, setting and operating a range of 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling machinery.
- Programming at the machine using Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Mazatrol controls.
- Machining complex and high-value components
- Producing one-off and low-volume precision-engineered parts
- Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
- Selecting appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds and machining strategies
- Carrying out in-process inspection and maintaining high quality standards
- Working closely with engineering and production colleagues to improve machining processes and reduce cycle times
- Working to tight deadlines
PERSON REQUIREMENTS
- Strong experience programming, setting and operating multi-axis CNC milling machines
- Good working knowledge of Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Mazatrol controls
- Proven experience machining complex components
- The ability to work confidently and independently
- A strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and inspection methods
- A practical, quality-focused approach to problem-solving
